This applet named Metamorphose is a compact applet for viewing panorama pictures. Here is shows an animated Platonic Universe with the five platonic solids and their three combinations. The applet is written in "pure Java 1.0" and thus available on all Java enabled browsers.

To move the universe, you can use the scroller in the bottom left corner of the applet. The direction and the speed of the movement is adjustable by the scroller. You can move the picture with the mouse too. Simply click on the panaorama and drag the picture with the mouse.

In this example M.C. Escher's woodcut "Metamorphose II" is used as panorma picture in the applet..
Platonic solids are perfect regular solids with the following conditions: all sides are equal and all angles are the same and all the faces are identical. Here you can find the five platonic solids (tetrahedron, hexahedron, octahedron, dodecahedron and icosahedron) as animated GIF's.
